Abstract

The acrylic inverse emulsion copolymerization has been studied with SpanTween or SpanOP mixture as emulsifier, Aliphatic hydrocarbon as oil medium and using redox initiator. The influences of various factors, such as reaction temperature and time, pH value of water phase, monomer concentration, the ratio of oil and water, monomer ratio, the amount of crosslinking agent on the inverseemulsion copolymerization and the properties of the products have been investigated in detail. The obtained products have excellent thickening properties.
