Abstract

Objective:A siderophores-producing bacterium from the cotton rhizosphere was isolated and identified. Methods:Strains were isolated from cotton rhizosphere by gradient dilution, and then siderophores-producing bacterium was screened out using an universal Chrome Azurol S(CAS)-agar plate method by the size of the pink discoloration(halo).A number of morphological characteristics and physiological and biochemical features were examined and the 16S rDNA sequence was analysed for this stain. Results:A siderophores-producing bacterium E19 was screened out and 13 physiological and biochemical features were done. All except the M.R assay is according with Pseudomonas putida. Its 16S rDNA sequence is identical to that of Pseudomonas putida at 100% level.
