Abstract
Objective The relationship of cutting depth of cornea and the development of haze after photorefractive keratectomy (PRK) in different diopters were analyzed comparatively. Methods 220 patients with low or medium diopter were devided into two groups and underwent PRK treatment separately. The cornea thickness at the center before the treatment and 1,3,6,12,24 months after PRK were measured by A-ultrasound.The development of haze was observed. Results The cutting depth of the medium myopia cases was higher and had higher ratio of haze than that of low myopia. The central corneal thickness of two groups was thickest at 3 month after operation, and then stabilized. All haze was grade Ⅰ.Haze was common at 1 month,3 month after operation, and serious at 3 month. After that it regressed or disappeared. Conclusions In the low or medium diopter cases, the cutting depth of cornea was direct related with diopters.Haze was positively relative with cutting depth of cornea.
