The Gender Difference of Self-assessed Health and Activities of Daily Living of the Elderly in Chinese Rural Area

Abstract
To understand the gender difference of self-assessed health and activities of daily living of the elderly in Chinese rural area,the data of China health and retirement longitudinal study was used and two Logit model was constructed.A total of 5 802elderly people were analyzed.The results showed that the men were superior to women in self-assessed health and activities of daily living and were affected by age,education and living area.In order to improve health equity,relevant measures should be taken such as emphasizing on health equity in health reform and allocating medical resources to women as a top priority and improving socioeconomic status of the women.
