Abstract

Transverse water-retaining cofferdams at both upstream and downstream of powerhouse foundation pit need to be built because the completed flood discharge gate on right bank is applied for Phase Ⅱ diversion so as to have dam sections at powerhouse of Shuhe Hydropower Station be concreted. Before determination of scheme for cofferdam, hydraulic model tests on flows are carried out respectively according to scheme for year-round water retaining cofferdam and scheme for overflow cofferdam in flood season.Based on the model test results, the final scheme for Phase Ⅱ cofferdam is the one for overflow cofferdam in flood season.
