Abstract

Fang Hao was an important poet in late Jin Dynasty and early Yuan Dynasty, one of the most honorable poets living between the Yellow River and Fen River. As a follower of Yuan Haowen, he was very active to launch a literary movement aiming at the same achievements as that of Tang poets. Loss of relevant materials is the main reason of the obscurity of his life story, thoughts, creation and position. This paper makes a textual research on relevant historical materials to examine his literary thoughts, literary achievements, historical contribution and position, and reveals the poetic creation and poetic thoughts in late Jin Dynasty and early Yuan Dynasty from a specific angle.
