Abstract
The traditional Chinese narrative theory, formed in pre-Qin, has a long history. After that, it developed vigorously and a large number of narrative works appeared correspondingly in ancient China. The article analyzes the elements of ancient narrative works; the forming and development of ancient Chinese narrative thinking and theory ; and research conditions and existing problems of Chinese contemporary narrative works.
