Abstract
Objective To survey on the related factors of the third molar and pericoronitis among island debarked army that is stationedto drill in summer, and to provide scientific supports for establishment of the prevention and cure countermeasures. Methods According to the direction of the teeth, the impaction teeth is divided to four categories: central impaction, vertical impaction, level impaction and impactions on other parts. Impaction are also analyzied from three aspects: high level, middle level and low level, according to the eruption level. Water drinking and pericoronitis are recorded. Results According to the direction of the teeth, vertical impaction has the highest incidence. According to eruption level, the lower the eruption level is, the higher the incidence of pericoronitis. These results have been confirmed by statistics ( P 0.005). Conclusion The cause of the pericoronitis of the third molar is closely correlated to the depth of the blind pocket. The incidence of the disease can be lowered by drinking a lot of water.
