Abstract
Based on the previous study on cumulative displacement and velocity effect of the yield acceleration of structural plane, and combining with the dynamic strength reduction analysis,we propose a new approach for calculating the dynamic stability factor for rock slope,in which strength deterioration of the sliding surface is considered. The application procedure of the new methodology is presented aiming at a rocky slope. The results show that using dynamic friction coefficient that considers sliding surface deterioration is necessary in calculating the dynamic stability factor for a rock slope, the calculated results are more reasonable comparing with the calculation that adopts static dynamic frictional coefficient.
