Abstract
[Objective]To analyze the epidemiological characteristics of measles in Shunyi district of Beijing from 1998 to 2008, provide the basis for making control strategies of measles.[Methods]With the data of disease surveillance, the incidence of measles in Shunyi district from 1998 to 2009 was studied with the methods of the descriptive epidemiology.[Results]There were 446 measles cases in Shunyi district in recent 12 years, the incidence rate was 5. 67 / lakh, which increased year by year. The incidence rate of measles increased obviously since 2004,the incidence rate in 2005 and 2006 was 18. 60 / lakh and 15. 07 / lakh respectively, and the peak season was from March to May. Most of patients were children under 1 year old and people aged 18 ~ 25 years. There was no difference in the incidence rate between local children and floating children under 1 year old,and the incidence rate of floating population over 15 years old was higher than that of local population over 15 years old. The main occupations of patients were scattered children and migrant laborers.[Conclusion]The key population of measles Shunyi district was floating population, most patients were children under 1 year old and people aged 18 ~ 25 years. In order to control the measles among children under 1 year old, the immunization timeliness rate of measles, munps and rubella vaccination ( MMR) among 8 months old infant should be improved, the immunization coverage rate of second dose of measles vaccine should be enhanced, and reproductive women should inoculated MMR vaccine when marriage examination or before pregnancy. To strengthen supplementary immunization and improve the timeliness of measles surveillance were the main control measures for measles among people over 20 years old.
