Abstract

Objective To understand contamination state of food-borne pathogens in Huanjiang County and to provide scientific basis for supervision and prevention of food-born pathogens. Methods During 2011-2012,186 samples of 10 major categories of foods were collected. The food-borne pathogens of Salmonella,Shigella,E.sakazakii,Bacillus cereus,Listeria monocytogenes,EHEC O157:H7,Staphylococcus aureus,Campylobacter jejuni and Vibrio parahaemolyticus were detected. Results Nine strains of food-born pathogenic bacteria were detected from the 186 samples and the total detected rate was 4.8%.The positive rate of infant food was 15.6% ranking the first and followed by cooked meat products with a detectable rate of 9.4%,being 4.5% for cooked flour food. Conclusions The contamination of Bacillus cereus was most serious in Huanjiang County, followed by E.sakazakii.infant food, cooked meat products and cooked flour food were the potential high risk ones for contamination of food-borne pathogens.
