Abstract
Time-space migration and evolution of sedimentary and tectonic activities as well as the space distribution of hydrocarbon source rocks, reservoirs and capping rocks in the Bohai Bay basin are roughly described, and exploration prospect for the Neogene is analyzed with the help of analyzing the present situation of the intra-basin prospecting. The authors considered the following units to be the most favorable targets in the basin, namely, Neogene in the bulges and low uplifts, the Dongying Formation and the complex oil and gas accumulation zones in the pre-Tertiary pools.
