Abstract

There evolved several standpoints during the heated debate over the popularization of arts and literature among the Chinese literati around 1920s and 1930s.Among these,the three principles proposed by Qu Qiubai,viz.struggle as subject matter,plain style and working class author,have become an important part of Qu's poetics.
