The Clinical Value of Multislice Spiral CT in the Diagnosis of Ureteral Obstruction

Objective To explore the application value of multislice spiral CT (MSCT) in ureteral obstruction.Methods 36 patients with ureteral obstruction of MSCT images were retrospectively analyzed.All patients underwent CT scan,and enhanced CT scan during arterial phase, venous phase and excretory phase, and the volume data were reconstructed with maximum intensity projection(MIP), multiple plane reconstruction(MPR),curved plane reconstruction(CPR),and volume rendering(VR).Results Among the 36 patients with ureteral obstruction,there were 15 cases of ureteral positive stone,6 cases of ureteral negative stone,3 cases of ureteral obstruction caused by inflammation,3 case of ureteral tumor,5 cases of ureteral obstruction caused by bladder cancer,5 cases of ureteral obstruction caused by rectal cancer.The axial,MIP,MPR,CPR,and VR image of all cases could clearly show the shape of ureter,the site of obstruction and the surroundings of ureter,to provide the reliable basis in the locational and clinical diagnosis.Conclusion MSCT is of great value in the diagnosis of ureteral obstruction.
