Abstract
[Objective] To master the epidemic characteristics of syphilis in Shenyang City, so as to provide accurate ba- sis for formulating prevention and control planning. [Methods] The epidemic information of syphilis was analyzed by descrip- tive epidemiologic method. [Results] The average incidence rate of syphilis was 20.89 / 10 million from 1997 to 2007. The inci- dence in urban areas was significantly higher than rural areas; The distribution of different seasons did not showed significant difference, The male to female ratio was 0.995︰1. People at the age of 20 to 44 years accounted for 74.46%. [Conclusion] It is necessary to strengthen the health education, and carry out comprehensive intervention to reduce the risk factor of syphilis transmission.
