Abstract
A preliminary study on six kinds of heavy metals including Cu,Pb,Zn,Cd,Hg,and As of 15 samples were conducted and the environment quality was evaluated in the Oujiang River estuary. The results showed that high contents of heavy metals distributed in the area around Lingkun Island. The area was not evidently polluted by heavy metals except for light contaminated of As and Cu with the first class sediment quality standard. The potential ecological risk of heavy metals in the surface sediments was evaluated which showed that potential ecological risk of heavy metals followed the order of Hg AsCdCuPbZn.The surface sediments possessed rather light potential ecological risk.
