Abstract
Among the existing studies of modality, the researches into the mismatch of different modalities are few and far between in that they usually focus on the analysis of a single modal device utilized in a single modality. This paper is a tentative exploration into the mismatch of modalities. It is argued that different modalities are often used together in daily communication, which thus gives rise to various effects of expression.
A significance statement is not available in the OpenAlex record.
