Confucianism is not only the essence of Huizhou civilization, but also its practical expressing form. The relationship between them is virtually that of local civilization and Chinese civilization. They are a dialectical unity, that is, local civilization has enriched and developed Chinese civilization; however, Chinese civilization, on the other hand, has influenced and directed the local civilization. They both are in the interactive development.
