Abstract
With propanoic acid and ethanol as raw materials, cyclohexane as water entrainer and sodium hydrogen sulfat as catalyst, ethhyl propionate was synthesized directly under normal pressure and microwave irradiation. The mole ratio of ethanol and propanoic acid was 2.5∶1.0,the amount of cyclohexane was 5 mL,the amount of sodium hydrogen sulfat was 0.3 g,and the microwave irradiation time was 8 min with the power of 665 W. The rate of esterification was over 98 %.
