The study of relations between blood pressure and heredity

Abstract
Objective To investigate if there is correlation in blood pressure between parents and their children and to analyze the correlative relationship, if there is, mainly due to which factors:heredity,the same living conditions or both. Methods 532 core families were obtained based on index cases. The data were processed by software named Epi Info and SAS. Results To those whose parent(s) were hypertensive, the risk of suffering hypertension was higher than that of those whose parents' blood pressure were normal. Conclusions Heredity was the main factor resulting in the significant correlation of blood pressure between the parents and their children, and hypertension had hereditary liability.
