On the Romanticism in the Novels by Chi Zijian

There is a strong sense of romanticism in the novels written by Chi Zijian.This romanticism is embodied in the following four aspects:searching for a home for soul,constructing a maze of fantasy,kindling the passion of life,transcending the suffering of one's own and these four aspects provide us with an access to the understanding of the pursuit of romanticism and purpose in Chi Zijian's writing.In this paper,the' romanticism of spirit ',a distinct feature of Chi Zijian's novels,is explored by a detailed discussion of the four aspects together with reference to the writer's inner romantic feelings.
