Comment on Hu Bingqian's Shuowen Guanjian

Shuo Wen Guan Jian(说文管见) written by Hu Bingqian is an important work for the study of the etymological dictionary entitled Shuo Wen Jie Zi(说文解字,Notes on Language and Characters).This book had been widely accepted and had had profound influences.It put emphasis on the stylistic interpretation of Shuo Wen Jie Zi,and attached importance to the differentiation of Chinese characters.It conducted textual researches on the signification of characters from different perspectives,and approached Shuo Wen Xi Zhuan(说文系传) academically in a comprehensive way.In his work,Hu Bingqian showed his unique perspectives in a way that was different from his preceding scholars.
