Review on application and synthesis of poly (lactic acid)

This paper mainly reviewed the general situations of synthesis processes and application of poly (lactic acid) , and concentrated on to elucidate the mechanism of indirect ring open polymerization and the update progress situations on increasing the relative molecular weight of poly (lactic acid) obtained by a direct polycondensation method. The modem and potential application fields of poly (lactic acid) were analyzed, and the direction to research and widen the special application fields for developing poly (lactic acid) was also put forward.
