Abstract
A theoretical analysis and experimental test were carried out about the low energy dissipation efficiency of hydraulic jump and the largest post jump wave of water surface.The study shows that the low energy dissipation efficiency of hydraulic jump(Fr=1.0~1.7)and the large post jump wave of water surface are the main reasons to cause the erosion of river bed and banks in low Froude number situation.An experience formula about the largest height of wave was obtained.The fermuld is important for the safety of the outlet work.
