Convenient synthesis of 2,5-dimethylamino-1,4-benzoquinones

Abstract

The one-step method for synthesis of the title compound at low cost was reported.Hydroquinone reacted directly with methylamine,dimethylamine,ethylamine and propylamine,butylamine,benzylamine and morpholine to synthesize the corresponding aminoquinones,respectively.The title compounds were characterized with IR,UV,HNMR and MS.The crystal structure of 2,5-Bis(dimethylamino)-1,4-benzoquinone,2,5-dipropylamino-1,4-benzoquinone and 2,5-dibutylamino-1,4-quinine were investigated with X-ray crystallography.
