Abstract

The theory of student development is the application and development of human development theory to higher education and an integrated theory which includes the theories of psychological development, cognitive structure, category, humanenvironment interaction and the SLI (student learning). At present, there exist some deepseated problems in the student management of China’s universities——the lack of student development, demanding that universities should reform the student management system by using the key concepts and ideas of the student development theory based on the status quo of their own development which is as follows: first, expanding the functions of advice, guidance and services of organization structure; second, reflecting the developing law of the students and their learning and development objectives in the management system; third, reflecting the characteristics of knowledgepractice unity in the construction of campus culture; fourth, building the specialized development mechanism of personnel for student management.
