Abstract
Serial analysis of gene expression,or SAGE,is a high-throughput technique for the study of gene expres-sion pattern.SAGE allows for a quantitative and simultaneous analysis of a large number of transcripts in any par-ticular cells or tissues.In this article,the principle and the experimental procedure of SAGE,together with some modifications of SAGE method during the past few years are reviewed,then several research using SAGE method and some SAGE databases available on the Internet are introduced.
