Abstract
Objective To study the expression of transforming growth factor -beta 1 ( TGF -β_1) at different time points of reperfusion after middle cerebral artery occlusion(MCAO) of rat brain. Methods The ischemia-reperfusion models of rat brain were made by immunohistochemical technology. The expression of TGF-β_1 in rat brain was observed. Rusults The expression of TGF-β_1 increased at 3 h of reperfusion reached its peak at 24 h and still elevated at 72 h,than decreased after 72 h. Conclusions The injury and repair of nervous cells after cerebral ischemia have correspondences with the expression of TGF-β_1 ,so that TGF-β_1 participated in the process of repairment of the injuried nervous cells.
