Abstract
Pot experiments were conducted to study the physiological effects and yield of Si application on cadmium and zinc Stress of rice plants(Rice variety,Zhengdao 18).Results showed that Cd and Zn stress significantly reduced plant biomass and yield of rice, while Si application increased the biomass.Under the stress of Cd and Zn,the plasma membrane permeability,MDA content, soluble sugar content and POD activity in leaves were all significantly increased, while chlorophyll content, protein content and SOD activity in leaves were obviously decreased.Plasma membrane permeability,MDA content and soluble sugar content and POD activity in leaves were decreased after Si application, but chlorophyll and protein content of leaves and rice yield were significantly increased. These results suggested that silicon enhanced rice resistance against Cd and Zn stress by improving matter metabolism and regulating antioxidant enzyme system.
