Corrosion and Protection of Coastal Concrete Bridges

Yong Wang

Open publisher page 1 citations

Abstract

The coastal reinforced or prestressed concrete bridges are always liable to chloride corrosion permeating on the reinforcement therein and durability of the structures is thus degraded. To improve the durability, essential measures against the corrosion that are suitably adopted in design and construction of the concrete bridges, and special measures suitable for use on important structures in vile environment are described. Practice proves that all these measures can effectively and significantly extend the service life of the structures.
