Abstract
The eastern part of the southern Tianshan is located in Tianshan folded belt--an important polymetallic metallogenic belt in China. It is of great potential for gold metallogeny. On the basis of the analysis on the regional geology, the geologic evolution and the geochemistry of the eastern Tianshan, the zonation of gold mineratization of the eastern part of the southern Tianshan is made, characteristics and distibution of gold deposits are summarized. Authors suggest that gold deposits of ductile shearing zone type, cataclastic altered rock type, magmatic(metamorphic) hydrothermal type of Proterozoic age should be main prospecting types, and finally authors propose favorable target areas for prospecting.
