Abstract
Objective To observe the efficacy and safety of edaravone in treatment of acute cerebral infarction.Meth- ods A total of 88 patients of acute cerebral infarction were randomly divided and assigned to a therapy group and a control group. The control group was given a routine treatment. The therapy group was treated with edaravone in addition to the routine treatment received by the control group.Making comparison between the two groups based on the assessed Chinese stroke scale(CSS)be- fore treatment and after treatment. The adverse reaction associated with the edaravone was also observed. Results The nerve function defect scores were compared before and after treatment, there were significant differences between the two groups(P<0.05).After treatment there were significant differences between the two groups(P<0.01).The efficacy of the therapy group is higher than of the control group(P<0.05).There was no obverse adverse reaction in the two groups. Conclusion It is safe and effective to use edaravone in treatment of acute cerebral infarction.
