Analysis on clinical efficacy of phototherapy with ultraviolet in treatment of psoriasis vulgaris

Abstract
Objective To evaluate the efficacy and safety of UVB phototherapy in treatment of psoriasis vulgaris.Methods The clinical data of 48 patients with psoriasis vulgaris treated by UVB phototherapy were retrospectively reviewed and analyzed. The therapeutic effects and adverse reactions were recorded every two weeks.Results Among 48 patients with quiescent psoriasis vulgaris treated by phototherapy at least 16 times,42 of them were effective (87.5%),and 2 of them stopped the treatment due to adverse reactions. Various degree of pigmentation occurred in 70.8% patients.Conclusion Phototherapy with ultraviolet is obviously effective in treatment of psoriasis vulgaris,and it is economical and safe.
