Abstract
The fuel consumption,power,emission,air/fuel ratio as well as the pressure and temperature of intake and exhaust gas are measured and analyzed during the matching test of a diesel engine with two turbochargers. The diesel engine is of 6(cylinders),in line,water-cooled,turbocharging with intercooler, and direct injection engine for vehicle. The turbochargers have by-pass valves. When the by-pass valve opens earlier, the air quantity is greater in low engine speed and little smaller in high engine speed, the fuel consumption is lower and the power output higher in low engine speed, the fuel consumption and the power output are almost the same in high engine speed. This type turbocharger can meet the demands when matching diesel engines for vehicle.
