Urbanization in China: Progress,Problems and Countermeasures

Since China's reform and open-door policy,the level of urbanization has been being increasingly enhanced,the comprehensive power of cities has been being continuously reinforced and the out-emissive power of cities in the social-economic development in both regional and country levels has been protruding constantly.In the current process,however,there exist problems: the development of urbanization is unbalanced between different regions;urbanization is backward,compared with industrialization;and there exist institutional barriers.And the coming 20 years will be times for the development of urbanization to speed up.Therefore,in order to conform to the trend and enhance the healthy and faster development of urbanization,it is of necessity to carry on reform,adjustment and perfection on aspects such as sustainable development of cities,investment and funding mechanism for construction of cities,household register and employment system,and social security system in cities.
