Abstract
Gelcasting of 316L stainless steel powders was discussed in the study. The effect of different factors on the rheology of 316L stainless steel powder slurry and gelation time as well as the monomer concentration on the property of solidified colloid were investigated. It was shown that the suspension with 54% solids can be prepared by adding proper dispersant. The monomer concentration has great effect on the properties of solidified colloid and the more initiator and catalyzer added the shorter the idle time is.The products with uniform structure,a relative density of 95%,a yield strength of 160 MPa,a green flexural strength of 38 MPa can be prepared under optimum processing parameter.
