Abstract

The article holds that the essence of comedy lies in disclosing how the people are covered and deceived by the unreasonable and declined social being. The functions of comedy returns reality and goodbyes these defects with pleasure. At the same time, the article analyses why the comedy is popularized by contemporary people from psychological aspects. In the end, the article criticized negative phenomena in the comedy.
