Abstract
Resveratrol is a phytoalexin produced by some plant species in response to biotic and abiotic stresses. It quickly metabolize into pterostilbene, piceid, viniferins etc in vivo. These metabolins also have a wide-array of biological activities like resveratrol, such as antimicrobial,anti-inflammatory,platelet antiaggregating. They are also reported to be potentially important cellular events associated with carcinogenesis. The selectivity and stability of these metabolins are also better than that of resveratrol. The synthesis approach, bioactivities, metabolic regulation, detection methods of the main metabolins were reviewed in this paper.
