Abstract
The corrosion resistance of silane film on pretreated galvanized steel sheets was investigated. The corrosion resistance was evaluated by using polarization and AC impedance test. The results showed that silane film can remarkably restrain catholic and anodic reactions in corrosion process simultaneously and increases the resistance of electric charge transfer. Therefore, corrosion rate of zinc reduces significantly. The film-forming and corrosion protection mechanism were discussed.
