Abstract

Objective To evaluate the efficacy and toxicity of paclitaxel combined with radiotherapy in the treatment of advanced non-small cell lung cancer. Methods Twenty-eight patients with stage Ⅲ~Ⅳ non-small cell lung cancer which couldn’t be treated surgically received paclitaxel chemotherapy plus radiotherapy with medical linear accelerator. Results CR was achieved in 3 cases, PR in 17, NC in 6, PD in 2, the overall response rate(CR+PR) being 71.4%.CA125 was significantly lower than that before radiochemotherapeutic treatment(P0.05), and the side-effects were not serious. Conclusion Paclitaxel chemotherapy combined with radiotherapy with medical linear accelerator is a good method in the treatment of advanced non-small cell lung cancer which couldn’t be treated surgically.
