Abstract

Aim To contrast the value combined cytological and histological diagnoses of hepatic space occupying lesions. Methods Total 110 cases of B-ultrasound or CT guided fine needle aspiration biopsies were used in this study, all the cases suspected as hepatic space occupying lesions, were studied by cytopathology and histopathology. Results It was entirely consistent with cytopathology and histopathology diagnosis in 102 cases of hepatic space occupying lessons, the accurate ratio was 92.7%(102 /110),and these was 8 cases inconsistent with the histopathology diagnosis. Conclusion It has been suggested that the diagnosis by fine needle aspiration cytopathology through skin to determine the nature of hepatic space occupying lesions has significant values.
