Abstract
Using w=30% aqueous hydrogen peroxide as oxidant and without any organic solvent and cocatalyst, the oxidation of cyclohexanone to adipic acid catalyzed by phosphotungstic acid was investigated. The result indicates that phosphotungstic acid is excellent catalyst for oxidation of cyclohexanone to adipic acid. The effects of the amount of catalyst, hydrogen peroxide, temperature and time were studied in this reaction. The optimum condition consists in reaction temperature being at 92 ℃,reaction time 8 his,n(cyclohexene)∶n(H_3PW_(12)O_(40))∶n(H_2O_2)=150∶0.5∶587,and the yield of adipic acid being up to 60.6%.
