Abstract
Crosslink density,FTIR spectrum and mechanical properties of HTPB binder system during its aging process were measured and analyzed. The chemical reactions during its aging process, the change of chemical structure and their effects on the mechanical properties of the HTPB binder were studied. The results show that there is a correlation between crosslink density of HTPB binder system and its mechanical properties. The model of correlation between crosslink density and mechanical properties of HTPB binder system can be established using aging time as an intermediary, and the model can be used to calculate the mechanical properties of the binder system from its crosslink density.
