Clinical Observation on Simple Obesity in Stomach-heat and Dampness-Stagnation Type Mainly by Acupuncture

Abstract

Objective: To observe the therapeutic effect on serum adiponectin(APN) of patients with simple obesity in stomach-heat and dampness-stagnation type mainly by acupuncture,and to explore the mechanism.Methods:40 cases of patients were randomly divided into the acupuncture group and the contrast group,the acupuncture group(n=20) were treated with acupuncture and diet manipulation,the contrast group(n=20) were treated with diet therapy.Results:The total effective rate was 80.0% in the acupuncture group and 30.0% in the contrast group,with significant difference between the two groups(P0.01).The increase of serum APN level in the acupuncture group was significantly better than that in the contrast group(P0.05).Conclusion:There is a definit clinical therapeutic effect on simple obesity in stomach-heat and dampness-stagnation type mainly by acupuncture.It can increase the serum APN level.
