Abstract
Based on the field investigations across July to August in 2012 and 2013 and analysis on reference data, the ecological types and life forms of wetland vascular plants in Hulunbeir of Inner Mongolia,China were analyzed, and formation groups as the basic unit of vegetation types were described. The results showed that the ecological type was dominated by mesophyte. The life form was dominated by herb, and the species of submerged plants was abundant. Wetland vegetations in the area could be divided into 3 groups,8 styles,6 substyles and 30 formation groups. Due to the integrated effect of climate zone and unique wetland habitat and the vegetation, wetland vegetation presented a simple synusia structure and tidiness physiognomy. Many dominant species with high coverage were available in the vegetation. The distribution and succession of the vegetation were described and the protection and utilization of wetland vegetation were discussed in this study.
