The Theoretical Trajectory of Development from Socialist Commodity Production to Socialist Market Economy

MAO Ze-dong, CHEN Yun and DENG Xiao-ping made continuous explorations and innovations in the theory and practice of planning and market at different historical stages of New China. MAO Ze-dong's theory about socialist commodity production from the late 1950s to the early 1960s, CHEN Yun's theory about combining socialist planned economy with regulation through the market from the late 1970s to the early 1980s, and DENG Xiao-ping's theory of socialist market economy from the late 1970s to the early 1990s all greatly enriched and developed Marxism, displaying the theoretical trajectory of development from socialist commodity production to combining socialist planned economy with regulation through the market and then to socialist market economy.
