Acetabular Fracture Treated with Open Reduction and Internal Fixatiion

Objective:To find out satisfying methods for acetabular fracture treatment.Methods:42 cases of acetabular fracture were treated.31 cases of them were male and 11 female,averaging 46.4 years.6/42 cases were treated conservatively,while 34/42 with operative reduction and internal fixation,2/42 with total hip replacement.Results:39/42 cases were followed-up averaging 30.1 months.31/39 were excellent,2/39 good,3/39 fair,3/39 poor.Discussion:Conservative and surgical treatments are two complementary choices.Optimal time for surgery is 2 to 10 days after injury.Reconstruction plates technique may be the best method of internal fixation of the acetabular fracture.The type and severity of the acetabular injury are the most important factors of prognosis.The result of reduction is another most important factor.
