Clinical evaluation on amalgam post-core complete crown for posterior teeth restoration

Objective: To evaluate the clinical application of amalgam post -core crown for posterior teeth restoration. Methods: Fifty five patients and sixty endodontically treated posterior teeth were selected in this study. All this teeth were restored with amalgam post-core complete crown. Patients were followed up for 12 to 24 months. The further consultations were offered to these teeth with examination and radiographs after 12～24 months. Results: In this case, 96.6% of crowns and amalgam post -cores were doing function well with no exhibiting after 24 months, two teeth had deleted for root cracked. Conclusion: Amalgam post-core complete crown is preferable to preserve endodontically treated posterior teeth.
