Abstract
The main bridge of the Waitan Bridge in Ningbo is an irregular shape cable-stayed bridge with a single pylon and four cable planes and with span arrangement(225+82+30) m.To have an understanding of the actual working conditions of the bridge under the action of loads,the static and dynamic load tests were made for the bridge.The results of the tests demonstrate that the actual strength,rigidity and carrying capacity of the bridge can satisfy the design and code requirements and the working performance can also satisfy the design and safe operation requirements.The load tests as mentioned give scientific and objective evaluation of the conditions of the bridge and accumulate experiences and data for the future development of the bridge structures of similar kind.
