The Analysis of AIDS Surveillance among Female Sex Workers in Some City

Objective To analysis the knowledge and high risk behavior related to AIDS of female sex workesrs(FSW),and providing basis for HIV/AIDS prevention and control.Methods To establish supervising point in the city,investigation was made continuously for 2 years.among FSW from 2004 to 2005 according to integrative surveillance plan for AIDS.Results 323 FSW were investigated,with an average age of 23.6 years.To get an education of less than 9 years was 80.5% of them.Over 80% were floating population,their average age of first mercantile sex behavior was 21.2 years and the average sex partners of them for the last week was 3.8.Although they have attained to some knowledge for AIDS,but they did not think of the risk that they were infected.Condom use in every time sexual intercourse for the last 3 months was lower.Conclusion The knowledge for AIDS and condom use rate was upper.Althouth AIDS related education in the public infuenced FSW effectively,health education and condom use should be promoted particularly among FSW in entertainment sites.
